SunLink(TM) Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) has become a key openstandard that offers the promise of many diverse computing systemssharing resources and information in a workgroup-worldwide environment.SunLink OSI is part of the SunLink family of standard network products,which expand connectivity through the implementation of internationallyaccepted ISO/OSI communication standards.SunLink OSI offers ISO FTAM file transfer services, OSI routingcapabilities, OSI application programming interfaces, and support forinternational OSI profiles. SunLink OSI works with the followinginternational profiles: US GOSIP Version 1 (FIPS 146), UK GOSIP Version3.1, and European functional profiles specified by CEN/CENELEC/CEPT.When SunLink OSI is used in conjunction with SunLink X.25 and SunLink MHS(Message Handling System or X.400), workstations and servers can fulfillmost roles on OSI networks.
